Role:
Test Designer
The test designer is the principal role in testing
and is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the
test, including:
- Generating the test plan and test model
- Implementing the test procedures
- Evaluating test coverage and test results, and test effectiveness
- Generating the test evaluation summary
Staffing 
The appropriate skills and knowledge for the test designer role include:
- knowledge of the system or application-under-test
- knowledge of testing and test automation tools
- diagnostic and problem solving skills
- programming skills (highly desirable)
